Things Learned This Year (Or Observed)... so far

- Never have roommates who are living on their own for the first time, especially
muslim guys.

- Apparently there's the idea that if you leave your mess around, someone will clean
it up for you, or so I've been told.

- Same goes for when you use the toilet, apparently you don't need to flush because
someone will flush it for you.

- Confirmation on SUV drivers and TO drivers in general on their driving skills. SUV
drivers have very little depth perception, have no clue how long their vehicles
are. If you hit someone elses vehicle, please have the internal fortitude to leave
your contact number! Even if your vehicle wasn't damaged.

- Beware of doubletalk, doublespeak and words that needs granular NaCl.

- Butterflies in your stomach isn't because you're fawning over someone, it's your
instincts telling you to run away from that someone. (Some experiment done early
this year by some scientific eggheads in an American Ivy League School)

- Christ Jesus, Buddha, Vishnu, Odin, Mother Nature, Easter Bunny, Lao Tzu, Jade
Emperor of Heaven, Kwan Yin, Ganash, Allah are not the same and as nothing to do
with one another. Stop trying to twist truths around to fit some ideal without any
concrete fundamental truths. Yes, some do talk about love an doing the right
thing, but please examine the entire gamut of each beliefs and religion before
trying to justify that they are the same.

- We are living in the fast times of "Me, Myself and I". Cuz it's all about me, me,
me! or is it?

- Espresso beans are made from all types of blends. You have to use a fine grind to
an almost powdery grind for espresso, and not the course or medium grind.

- Throwing a blue disc into the water recepticle of the toilet seems to equate as
cleaning the washroom/ lavatory/ bathroom.

- It's apparently the trend to take your shoes into the house, past the foyer area,
because there will be someone to clean up after you..... apparently.

- When a man-child actually cleans up their mess, you know someone's visiting.

Viva le Weekend
Yes, long live the weekend! And what a weekend. Drinks
with friends on friday, followed by dinner with friends
on saturday down at The Pumphouse after a good workout
at the gym. On Sunday, went to the Photographic &
Digital Imaging Show which was hosted by Henrys. Thanks
Linda for the free ticket. It was informative, especially
the travel photography seminar. The speaker, Trevor,
reminded several good tips on photography that I have
completely forgotten from lack of photography activity.
I'm looking forward to after Christmas, hopefully the XTi
will be cheaper.

I'm looking forward to the next weekend already :)
I'm also looking forward to Friday, I think I'll take
more picturess along Spadina.

Long live the weekend!

Excitement on the Streetcar

It's never dull on the Spadina streetcar. A few months back, it was two ladies arguing about not pushing other people. Today, it's about butting in line to get on the streetcar. From what I gathered, this black dude butted in from of this brown dude in trying to get onto the streetcar from the front doors. Brown dude got upset about it and mouthed off to the black dude as he was heading to the single seats. It goes something like this:

Brown dude: Hey man, think you're so tough butting in front of the line, why don't you grow up, you're not a kid. Learn some manners. (this goes on for a little bit more before black dude gets up and heads back down the front of the street car)

Black dude: What you say to me? Do you know who the f*** I am? Remember Just Desserts? Remember Just Desserts? That was me and my crew. (goes on and on about his street creds. And this goes on for another 2-3 minutes of heated trading of verbal barbs, until the driver tells them to shut up as he was about to move from the station.

And I was thinking to myself, why on earth would you even say you were involved in that homicidal case? Was he aching for time at the nearest correctional facility?
Well no one can say it's ever dull on the 501 car. :)

Sorry, You Don't Have Any Canadian Experiences

While racism in Canada isn't blatantly out there and in your face unlike other countries. Racism is alive and well, it's just on the down-low and subtle. And it is not just eminating from one group against others, but it's coming from all groups to other groups. While we don't have burning crosses, noose carrying lynch mobs and bedsheet wearing dimwits, racism is still around in the great white north. I mean, just listen to the chinese population talk about other groups.

Ask any friend who are immigrants who have directly experienced or have relatives who have received this phrase in a job interview, " sorry, you don't have any canadian experiences." Can't hire you, cuz you have an accent, look un-canadian, didn't work or get educated in Canada. What a load of crock. So all immigrants should go watch a hockey game, eat donuts and drink coffee at Timmys and go on pogey at least once, maybe then they will get canadian experiences? *lol

Maybe all Commonwealth member countries should try that line when Canadians apply to jobs in their countries. "Sorry man, you don't have Jamaican experiences."

Peeves
Based on what I've experienced and seen, nothing annoys me more than excess aloofness, a frack-all attitude added with a touch of arrogance/ cockiness.

Simply put, this would be a person who is only concerned with their own comfort and well-being. This is their only concern and they would "raise" a care if and only if their comfortness is intruded upon. Anything else can happen and they wouldn't care whether it was an external cause or one that was of their own doing (hence the frack-all attitude). Added to this swirl of ad nauseum, is the need to brag and bring up one's self-worth either to one's self or to others. As well as the need to be the centre of attention, through various forms, such as tales that seem a bit implausible.

It's more annoying when they are also extremely transparent. But I guess that's something I still need to learn from God, to accept all the good along with the annoying. Perhaps they are called patience and grace.

Inconsiderates on the road

To all motorists out there who have stock HIDs, self installed aftermarket HIDs or self installed/ self aim adjusted headlights...

GO stepoff!!!

Oh yeah, this applies to auto manufacturers too for coming up with the retarded notion that HIDs help to make things clearer.

I'm sick and tired of being blinded headon and from behind from you jackasses. HIDs do not help you see any better especially if the beam is pointed straight ahead instead of 30 degrees down towards the road. And if you're going to replace the headlights yourself, please just replace the headlight pod or bulb only and stop fiddling with the aim adjustment. This especially goes to those aholes who deliberately readjust one of the headlights to point up and annoy other drivers.

Just grow some braincells and get edjumacated. The headlights works best when you can see the road first and not what is in front of you. No point being able to just see the car in front of you and miss the humongeous pit of a pothole on the road in front of you or not being able to see the lane markers.

Freedom Comes Around Again!
My boss is leaving one week from today! The streets will rejoice with singing and dancing.

Some quietness and time to get work done!

Congratulations to Maher Arar for his vindication and shame to the U.S. Government for their continued insistence on keeping his name on the banned list. It was good that the Harper government recognized the injustice and wrongfulness done to Mr. Arar. However this atrocity happened during the Chretian and Martin's time in office. I think both of them should publicly apologize to the Arar family as should that useless former RCMP commissioner.

Lucky for them, there isn't any suitable form of punishment for failing the public's trust. Pity.
