Canada Goes to War
Canada has decided to enter the Afghan conflict with the Americans. Canadian politicians believe that combat duty wouldn't be any different from peacekeeping duty. Obviously these tax-money wasting politicians have no clue to what combat duty is about, nor do they understand how useless most peacekeeping missions are, not to mention how much resources they waste. When will they realise that peacekeeping in a region that does not have peace is ultimately futile, peacemaking comes before peacekeeping. In today's paper, a report showed that Canada's Nuclear, Chemical & Biological Response Team would take 8 hours to respond to an attack on Ottawa. Nothing would be left after that long a time. Shouldn't such a unit be on call 24 hours alert? It's been almost 50 years since Canada has been in a combat situation. Another funny thing is that whenever a quick deployment is needed, the Princess Patricia Light Infantry Regiment is sent. Don't we have any other units available than the Princess Pats??? Maybe the rest of the Canadian Army is just a paper army. Hope they are ready for combat, crappy living conditions, snipers and sappers.
