Quick Update
Sunfire GT is an okay car for it's price. I just don't like the position of the brake pedal, it's set much higher than the accelerator. But it did outmaneuver a Monte Carlo on the 401. Anyways, saw Ice Age on Firday when it came out. It was a very very funny movie. Ray Romano was an excellent choice for the voice of Manfred "Manny" the Mammoth, very sarcastic in nature. Scrat is one of my favourite characters in the movie although he didn't do much in the movie. He's kinda like the prehistoric cousin of "2 Angry Beavers" in his actions and behaviour. The 3D animation wasn't as good as Final Fantasy but the comedy was first-rate. It gets 1 3/4 thumbs up!

This seems to be a popular topic in polls these days. Do you agree with the use of birth control in marriage? Well what do you think?
;P

Talk amongst yourselves.......

Are Americans Doom to Repeat All Their Stupid Mistakes?
Was watching the first half of Black Hawk Down and it occurred to me that in 1993, the media never really released the story of how the American forces planned their extradition mission of two of Aidid's top aids. If Ridley Scott's depictions of the events are accurate as stated by him then the Americans have repeated their mistakes again. Back in '63, the Americans entered Vietnam; filling the power void left by the French after their major defeat by the Vietcong. Feeling smug after their victories in WWII and Korea, the Americans basically underestimated the "simple, poor and uneducated" Vietnamese of the North. And look where that got the Americans, from late '76 the Americans were fleeing in droves from the invading North Vietnamese army.

Now travel forward to 1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia. Smug from the victories in Grenada, Nicaragua and the Gulf War, the Americans deployed to the 'Mog. They would underestimat the "simple, poor and uneducated" Somalians once again. As in 'Nam, women and children often were combantants as well or were readily used as a screening force. The somalians knew that the American soldiers had orders not to shoot "civilians", women and children and they exploited that weakness/ limitation to the limit. Guess the Yanks never could figure that the "uneducated" Somalians could think of such strategies to defeat the mighty Americian war machine. From the start, the Americans were under surveillance by spies from the various warlords. Their movements were reported back to the warlords and they were prepared for their arrival. Another note to keep in mind, in both incidents the American government refused to allow full military sanction to accomplish the mission/ campaign. This meant that certain tactics, weapons or vehicles were not allowed as they would promote too much bad press.

It's funny how they are the most powerful nation on this earth and yet they can't do something simple as learning from their mistake. Oh well....

Ironies
How ironic that Carleton University's School of Business does not run itself like a business. They cram crap like business theories and concepts down the throats of students but the school's executives do not practice them themselves. I believe that if they actually ran the school like a business (ie. the students are the customer), the school would be better able to offer more options, courses and facilities to students and faculty.

If anyone has other ironical stories or situations, please email me so I can add it to the list.
Any other ironical twists in life?

Something to Ponder: Where is Your Stance With Your Relation to GOD
To the Church in Sardis

1"To the angel[1] of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits[2] 2 of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. 3Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. 4Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. 6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To the Church in Philadelphia

7"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: 8These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. 11I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. 13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To the Church in Laodicea

14"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: 15These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Revelations 3

Faith and good works go hand-in-hand, you can't have one or the other. As Christians we are to emulate (or try to) the life of Jesus as stated in the bible. Those who are lukewarm (neither hot or cold) are spit out by Jesus during Judgement.
