What's To Do In Da 'Loo?
Wow, it's been week since arriving in KW last Thursday and She-ra and I have visited just about every "major" tourist sites in 3 days ;P After Em's convocation (*yawn* it's kinda boring once the degree has been conferred ;P) we went to King Street Trio for Em's belated b-day/ grad dinner which was so delicious as was the dessert (ice cream balls). We've been to the Town of St. Jacobs and the factory outlets (the farmer's market was closed that day), had lunch at Timmy Ho's then went to Fairview Mall to kill time until we returned the Cavalier Type R. Next, we headed to Kitchener's downtown district on King Street and we checked out one of the 2nd hand bookstores on that street. Em and Jo picked us up in an Accent Type R and headed to Cambridge to checkout the sale at Blessings. After over spending too much time at Blessings (We missed CCF), we decided to have dinner at Montana's (after a 30 min wait). After dinner, we headed to MC to catch the end of CCF but only the loiterers were left, so we went to Jo's Rez Common for some pool until PT called and asked if we wanted to watch the Italian Job. We watched the movie around 130am. It was an excellent movie without the sex and overt violence. I got home around 4am and went to bed around 430am only to have to wake up at 9am to get ready for our trip to Niagara Falls.

Em did a good job of navigating through Hwy 8 to the 420. After lunch, we visited Ripleys, Hershey's outlet, went on the Maid of the Mist XII for a closeup look at the Falls and then left the country for an hour when we crossed the Rainbow Bridge to Buffalo, NY where I was asked like 5-6 questions by the INS agent. I guess either I have the look of a terrorist or all asian guys are criminals ;P We took a look at the American side of the falls (still looked dinky as always). She-ra and I thought the lookout platform (which you had to pay to get on) was an actual bridge construction but was cancelled or something (I thought the Yanks had started the project and then realised that they were building in the wrong spot). This was partly true, in that the platform was actually what's left of a bridge that was destroyed in the early 1900s by a freak cold snap that froze the water where the ice destroyed the bridge support structures. Next, we took the free shuttle to a new discovery science center or something like that but it wasn't free so we went across the bridge to the aquarium and saw the harbour seals for free!!! After our excursion to the great US of A we went for dinner at the Beef Baron (great beef but a little expensive with average service) before looking at the light show at the Falls which took an eternity for the lights to change. We left after it seemed that the lights weren't going to be changing any faster ( or is that slower?) and She-ra & P were feeling cold. We headed back to KW after successfully finding a way back to the 420 after finding closed off exits one after another. Once again Em's great navigating skills got us safely onto the 401 with only one glitch cuz of a tricky off ramp (and I was trying to fight off sleepy-ness :) )

Sunday, it's off to KWCAC and then we hunted and gathered food for lunch. She-ra cooked pasta for lunch and Rice came over with Em for lunch after SS. After a run around Ring Rd at UW, we went by Chicopee (the only ski hill in KW) and to Mitchells to check out the sidewalk sale, but there wasn't much that we wanted to buy. Later that evening, we went to CIF for badminton but some anal exec refused to let She-ra and P to play even though there weren't that many members playing due to exams. So they went for a run while Em and I went to social dancing. We did the Mambo, Rhumba, the criss-cross variation and end with the Waltz (which I had forgotten how it went).

She-ra and I went downtown Kitchener on Tuesday to check out the other two 2nd hand bookstores: Casablanca and KW bookstore. After I entered the bargain section at Casablanca, I lost She-ra ;P, she had thought that I went to KW already. It's a good thing she had Em's cell with her or I would have had to call Missing Persons ;P. Later we had dinner at Jo's for more pasta (atleast it wasn't beef as we had 3 days of beef from Thursday to Saturday). We lazed around on Wednesday after shopping for ingredients for kabobs that night. Today/night we're going K-ing.
More to come ;P
Lates.

Okay, I'm back to finish this really long blog. Well, it's off to TO on saturday for lunch at the 360 restaurant (CN Tower) with a matinee for the Lion King courtesy of Jo's idea of getting the SARS package off e-bay and we got almost a $15 discount per ticket when we won the bid at $70 (which excluded the baseball game, which no one wanted to watch anyways). Lunch was excellent, considering the total price was $200++ if we did not have the tickets. After that, we had a long winded detour to the Princess of Wales theatre for the Lion King matinee. The seats were much closer than when I watched it with my family (we sat in the balcony). You can see the faces of the performers, especially Rafiki. Majority of the cast were the same except for the lead young Simba, his vocal perfomance wasn't as good as the previous actor's. After the matinee, we made our way (once again through a long winded route) to harbour front to catch a ferry to Center Island. We caught the last few dragon boat races and walked around the "amusement park" until the hunger pangs hit us and we headed to some "restaurant" for crappy food at slightly inflated tourist prices. Next, we headed to a maze where we proceeded to find the exit. After searching the surrounding walls of the maze, Sheila and I realized that the exit had been blocked off. After we both came out at the entrance, we quickly ran around to the back of the maze to certify that the exit had indeed been blocked off, we both quickly headed back to the entrance. Once there, we saw Jo and Em coming out of the entrance, we pretended to act as if we had found the exit and proceeded to tell them. They readily entered the maze again in search of the elusive exit but to no avail. ;P They soon realised that we had tricked them about the exit and Em paid me back with a tickle attack.

As nightfall came, we decided to head back to the mainland, since the bugs were coming out and Sheila has a low tolerance for them. After we got back to Harbourfront, an argument started regarding the correct use/ meaning of the word "pedlar" which became very "mo liew". Once again, we took a VERY long detour to get back to the parking garage (underground passages are great when you know where you are heading to, if not, above ground travel would be a better way for navigation). We all crashed at Jo's place until the next morning where we headed to NTCBC(?) for service. I noticed Gerrome Tan there, I didn't know that it was his home church. After church, we hussled to StarWalk Buffet for lunch with Jon and Em's friend Jen. That was some good eating... ;) Later, Mukul stopped by for a bit while we finished lunch, he had a late night of partying so he couldn't meet for lunch. It was good seeing him again since graduation. After lunch, it's off to Pac Mall for some shopping. Jon got his "fan ban" version of Initial D: Arcade Stage for PS2 while I got my mom some 'Shrooms. We couldn't make it to Casa Loma by the time we were done at Fairview (She-ra needed to get some Littlle Mermaid stuff for a birthday present one of her friend). So we stopped by the OSC but it was already closing. Hence, we headed to a Vietnamese restaurant near Finch for dinner before heading back to Waterloo. We all crashed after that and I packed for my trip home on the Greyhound.

Footprints

Wow, Blogger has changed and improved it's interface.

Times when we are faced with difficult problems or situations, we seldom realise that God was there supporting/ carrying us through the fire and the rain. Once we get through it, we just carry on without wondering how it was possible for us to make it through those difficult times. When our faith is tested (which is inevitable, in varying intensity), we have to look back to the past, to those memories of past tests and how we got past those tests. We have to acknowledge the past memories and look to the future at the promises (hope) that God has promised us, to help strengthen our faith in knowing what has been promised by the Father. His promises have always come true but in His own time, which can range from a few days to a few years, and this is where our faith is tested. Being able to move aside the discouragement and knowing that there is a greater prize in the end.

On a lighter side; went to Southkeys and watched The Matrix Reloaded with Danny and Ben. It's still the complex and slightly bizarre movie but with excellent CG. Yay! One more day before I head down to KW for a week of "holiday".

on that note, I'm outta here.
