Unholy prices
Weird, just saw the gas prices at a Petrol Canada to be 66.6. Maybe that's why the prices keep fluctuating...

Finally, after 13 years of not having A/C, we finally got one installed on Thursday!!! Now the whole house can be kept cool and less humid for those crazy hot and humid summers.
BTW, Em told me to blog this. Don't know why though.

Commitment, Forgiveness & Repentence

While God does demand our commitment to Him in all that we do to honor and worship Him, as sinners and being human, we tend to not obey and follow His orders. The more worldly and materialistic events tend to take over our focus and attention. Often this would lead to separation and distancing ourselves from God and we most likely do not even know it until it's too late. A commitment to God is the most serious agreements there can be for Man.

God forgives, people barely do. It is by His grace that we still live and breathe. Christians are taught to be more Christ-like and to forgive but why do we not do so and more of it? The magnitude of our sins against one another is minute compared to our sins against God. Yet He has forgiven those who have asked for his forgiveness. Shouldn't we forgive others as He as forgiven us?

Once we have asked for and have received His forgiveness, we must seek repentance. That is, turning our hearts back to God, seeking His face, praying and have a change in lifestyle that is to be considered Christ-like. To do otherwise, would only be for naught and we sould still wallow in sin and nothing has changed. While it may be hard at first, once the process has started, eventually it becomes second-nature.

Avoiding, denying or simplying not wanting to follow God's rules would only lead to condemnation in the end in stead of eternal happiness and joy. Which would you rather have?

On another note, Em and I visited the !,000++ islands on Saturday and we went to see Boldt Castle. It's amazing how some people would show their affection for someone else (and having a ton of wealth couldn't hurt as well). On the way back to Rockport, the ferry went by the island that had the shortest international bridge. It was less than 10 metres long and it spanned between a medium sized island and a tiny island. Canada had the bigger island while the U.S. had the dinky island. Hungary owned the middle of the bridge, have no clue why though. As well, we saw the island that was in the movie "The Skulls". There was a house that belonged to the Skull and Bones Society of one of the Ivy League schools. We also rented a Jeep Liberty since Thrifty always seem to run out of compact and intermediate cars. We got the Liberty as a free upgrade. Too high for me but Em liked the mini-suv. Oh well...

Amazing

T'was sitting in service today and towards the end of PD's sermon, he said about how some people might be complaining about cell group or fellowship was boring and what not. And that caught my attention as it is so true with some people. It's not what fellowship or cell group can do for you but what you want it to be and what you want it to do for God. This sorta leads back to PD's past sermon on spiritual porkers, where we should move away from being self focused and to be God focused in our lives. God didn't create Man to love himself but we're to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

On another note: a thought has been swimming in my head and it has something to do with courtship or wooing I suppose...

How would one go about getting the attention of a member of the opposite sex? And is it important that the feeling is mutual and reciprocated?

Would it be as a friend where you would just hang out and get to know one another? Being there for one another.

Or,

Where the person of interest is being viewed as an object of affection or lust; the friendship is bought through gifts and kindness is displayed for ulterior motives and is justified as a means to an end? How does this affect the relationship? both with the other person and with God?

School's out!!!

Graduation's tomorrow, I pray that the weather is good enough to have the ceremony outside. Well it's been an interesting 4 years of academia and taking crap from indignant profs. But it's been a blast and now time to get going with life and work....
