In a distant galaxy far, far away.................
Man, it's been awhile since I've blogged anything. Saturday at fellowship was about absolute truth and gray areas. Kinda interesting, but not much discussion-wise. We then went to Sweet Potato Cafe for some bubble tea. Next, it's off to MK for some dinner since some people have not had dinner yet. Along the way, I met my parents and relatives. Now my aunt thinks that Sheree and I are going out... sheesh people imagine too much = ). And no, there is nothing going on between me and Sheree, just in case some of you readers have vivid imaginations and misread this blurb. Well sunday's worship was very vibrant, fresh and exciting; definitely a change from the usual. Maybe it's because Sam was leading worship, he likes to try new songs. When pastor Dan went up to start his sermon, the logo for Prince of Egypt came on, yup he had the video cued up for the end of his sermon. Nice powerpoint slides too, he sure has learned alot about PP. Unfortunately, now I have the "When you believe in miracles" song stuck in my head. Sunday school was very interesting to say the least. Dr. Penny Hall was talking to us about Covenant & Promise: The Concept of Covenant & Inherent Promise. To sum it up, God makes a covenant with us, He took the oath, not us. He does not demand any oath from us, just expects us to believe and have faith in Him. There's so much more things that I do not know about Genesis, I guess when you make it a career to study and discern information from the bible, you'll find those things too. Next week, she'll be talking about Moses and David, it would be a shame if anyone missed these two sunday school classes.
After lunch at, guess where? That's right! Man's Kitchen. we went rollerblading by Colonel By Drive, along Dow's Lake. Man! Are those paths every rough, my eyeballs were shaking non stop for awhile. Took it easy on the blades for awhile to get used to it and for Em to get used to hers. Then it was full speed all the way back. I noticed there were alot of fish in the lake this year, maybe MJ should try fishing there sometime = ) We went through Loeb building to get to Dunton where we left our stuff in my cubicle of an office. Concrete is so much nicer to blade on, and good thing the janitors weren't around or they would have chased us with their shriner carts.
The rest of the week went pretty slow, got caught in a freak rain storm while walking to MK for dinner. We took shelter in Chu Sing waiting for the rain to let up. Josh came later and he was soaked, he walked all the way from home. Saturday I got myself a decent pair of shoes at the Bay since my old pair were all worn out. Later Em and I met up with my parents and relatives for dinner at Oriental Palace. Dinner was good, haven't been there is years. It was G'mmel's birthday that day too and he was having dinner with Simon, Dennis and someone else who I don't recognize at the same restaurant. Later we met with Garvin and Sheree at the Met and proceeded down to Sussex to catch the remainder of the Benson and Hedges Symphony of Fire fireworks display. Italy was the competing country. It was good except for the lack of music accompanyment. We went to Zak's for some snacks and a meal for Sheree. Garvin drove us all home, thanks Garvin!
Sunday worship was excellent once again, Sam was leading. The atmosphere was certainly "energized". We had a slide show from VBS which was held this past week. It certainly looks like the kids had a lot of fun, so did Chris! The lecture from Dr. Penny Hall was good. She finished covering the Moses and David portions of the lecture. There were more people this time, I guess they managed to corral and herd the high-schoolers to the class. Studied for the rest of the day for my final on Tuesday.
